The Miniplane FR is the first and only paramotor that can be assembled with 2 types of protection cage, without major modifications to the structure.

To help you with your choice we have prepared this document.

You need to know that:

- on the basic  Miniplane FR, with flexible cage, we propose the 20/72 or 19/73 ratio as the first choice, because these are the ideal ratios for propellers from 115-125 cm, up to 130 cm with these gearboxes we can supply  the lightest composite/carbon propellers

- if you plan to upgrade to larger propellers, the gear 17/75 and 16/76 were created for large propellers (140cm and more)

- flex cage 140 cm in diameter (130 cm prop ) is the limit for flexible cages, beyond this size you need to mount the rigid cage

- abm arms for the 19/73 gear rate have a different shape than the 17/75  because the machine needs an higher torque compensation.

- up to 125-130 cm of propeller  there are nice light propellers to be mounted on the 20/72 and 19/73 gearboxes, beyond this size the propellers are heavier (also more efficient and quieter though)

The 17/75 gear rate as first choice on the FR only makes sense to offer the possibility of later mounting the 140 propeller and the rigid cage, if you believe that your ideal paramotor is with a 115, 125 or 130 cm propeller, we recommend choosing ratios of 21/71, 20/72 or 19/73
